Life at Oak Mount
Decorating Oak Mount Care Home
Over the next couple of weeks at Oak Mount Care Home, we will be decorating some of the communal areas, including the dining room and upstairs corridors. This will of course cause a bit of minor disruption, which we apologise in advance for.
Ringwood Carnival 2024 Gold Sponsors
We were delighted to once again be Gold Sponsors of Ringwood Carnival 2024. Every year the carnival seems to go from strength to strength which is as a direct result of the unbelievable hard work and dedication of all the volunteers who organise and run the event, it is for this reason that Oak Mount Care home is happy to support this community event, to help out in some small way.
How Small Things Can Make A Big Difference?
Oak Mount is introducing high-contrast name tags to help residents with vision or memory issues recognise staff more easily. This will make it simpler for residents to call staff by name, strengthening relationships and enhancing the warm, friendly atmosphere.
Ringwood Carnival Donation 2024
We’ve supported Ringwood Carnival for many years, valuing its importance to the community. Having grown up in Ringwood and participated in the parade myself, it’s a joy to see my children now involved. We’re proud to contribute, especially as the carnival raises funds for local charities. See you on Saturday, 21st September!
Ellingham Show in Ringwood
This year, we proudly sponsored the Ellingham Show as part of our ongoing support for local events and charities around Ringwood. We’ve supported the show for many years, helping raise funds for local causes. Our Director, Dominic, who has led Oak Mount Care Home for over 20 years, is pictured at the event in front of Somerley House.
Meet The Team - Peter, The Heart & Soul of Our Kitchen
For over 10 years, Peter, our chef, has prepared nutritious, balanced meals on-site, tailored to residents’ needs. We offer two main meal options daily, with plenty of variety for afternoon tea and evening meals. Special dietary requirements, like gluten-free and diabetic diets, are also accommodated. Peter’s Sunday Roasts are a resident favourite.
Our Residents' New Best Friend - Meet Boomer!
A long-term staff member now brings her dog, Boomer, to Oak Mount about five times a week. Boomer’s friendly presence delights residents and adds to our home’s warm, comforting atmosphere. He’s quickly become a favourite among both residents and staff.
Ringwood Town FC Tournament Fun in the Sun - 13th & 14th July 2024
We’ve long sponsored Ringwood Town Football Club, supporting both the First Team and youth football. My son joined the under sevens this season, and we’ve seen the great work of the volunteer coaches. For an upcoming tournament fundraiser, Oak Mount Care Home donated a £50 Amazon voucher as a raffle prize. Good luck to all teams on 13th & 14th July 2024!
Gold Sponsors of Ringwood Carnival 2024
We’re excited to be Gold Sponsors of Ringwood Carnival again on 21st September 2024. At Oak Mount Care Home, we prioritize supporting our local community. Having lived in Ringwood all my life, I know how important the carnival is to everyone here. We’re happy to contribute and look forward to seeing you there!
Privately And Social Services Funded Residents
All residents are assessed before moving in to ensure their needs can be met. Residents with over £23,250 in assets must fund their own care until their assets fall below this level. If they own property but lack sufficient cash, the Local Authority (LA) may provide temporary funding through a 12-week property disregard or a deferred payment agreement. Once funds drop below £23,250, the LA should take over funding. For those with less than £23,250 in assets who meet the LA’s criteria, the LA will fund their care, minus a client contribution.
Violet Waterman’s 100 th Birthday at Oak Mount Care
